Multiple Injuries Reported As Result Of School Bus Collision Near Murphys
Murphys, Ca — Four passengers on a school bus carrying students from Albert A. Michelson Elementary School were injured following a collision shortly before noon on Murphys Grade Rd.
According to the California Highway Patrol, 23-year-old Daniel J. Myers of Arnold was traveling westbound at 40 mph, when he lost control of his pickup truck and collided with the bus. The CHP reports that the accident was due to Myers traveling at an unsafe speed for the wet conditions. Myers suffered a fractured wrist, and was transported to Mark Twain St. Joseph´s Hospital.
Two unidentified students in the bus, both nine years old, suffered minor head injuries and were taken to Mark Twain St. Josephs Hospital. Also in the bus and reporting minor injuries were 57-year-old Mary C. Benjamin of Murphys and 48-year-old Beth Kryst of Murphys. No charges have been filed at this time related to the crash.
