San Andreas, Ca — The Highway Patrol is warning residents that if you are headed to the high country this weekend, you need to have the proper equipment.
“Basically, once you enter into a chain controlled area, you are required to carry chains,” says CHP Officer Jaime Castillo in San Andreas.
Last weekend the CHP assisted Caltrans in areas of the high country and found quite a few violators, according to Castillo. He says that officers will again be monitoring motorists this weekend.
“Tire traction devices do work,” says Castillo. “The law is there for a reason.”
Castillo says that during the span that officers assisted Caltrans in the chain control areas last weekend there were no reports of spinouts.
