Political Races Heating Up In Calaveras County

San Andreas, CA — A number of political races are heating up in Calaveras County.

According to the Stockton Record there are now four candidates that will be running for the District One spot to be vacated by Bill Claudino who has elected not to run for a second term. That list includes Zerrall McDaniel, a business owner in the San Andreas and Valley Springs area, Wells Fargo Bank´s Kathy Mazzaferro, Stockton paramedic Bryan Santos and Burson´s Gary Tofanelli, the owner of a Stockton steel fabrication firm.

District Two´s Steve Wilensky, the current Board Chair, will be challenged by 61 year old John Morse of Sheep Ranch.

In District Four Lori Kautz and Angels Camp City Council member Lee Seaton will be trying to unseat Tom Tryon who has been on the Board for 24 years.

The election is set for Tuesday, June 3.
