Utah Corporation Plans To Build Skilled Nursing Facility In Tuolumne County
Sonora, Ca — The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors has approved a Memorandum of Understanding with Avalon Health Care, Inc. out of Salt Lake City to construct a skilled nursing facility in the County.
The M.O.U. calls for Avalon to diligently pursue the planning, licensing and construction of a 90-120 bed facility, with the goal of opening it within three years.
“We know about rural services and are in rural areas in other states,” said Avalon CEO and President David Dangerfield at today´s board meeting. “We are pleased to bring that kind of expertise.”
The County agrees to assist Avalon in the planning and licensing effort and will close the current skilled nursing facility in conjunction with the opening of Avalon´s unit.
Avalon has not yet purchased property for the facility. It is noted that the County is not pledging any funding for the project.
