Tuolumne County Paramedic Receives Prestigious Award
Sonora, CA — Tuolumne County Paramedic John Andrews has received the Star of Life Award from the California Ambulance Association.
The Star of Life is awarded to medics, emergency dispatchers and other emergency medical personnel that bring extraordinary bravery, skill and commitment to the job.
Andrews is a paramedic and field training officer with Tuolumne County Ambulance.
Prior to becoming licensed as a paramedic he served as an airborne combat medical specialist in the Army.
In addition to his full-time work Andrews teaches first aid, CPR and First Responder Training at Columbia College. His writing has been published in the Journal of Emergency Medical Services magazine, a trade magazine for EMS.
