Oak Canyon Ranch Subdivision Moves Forward

Copperopolis, CA — The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors has approved parcel maps and zoning changes for phase one of the 3,200 acre Oak Canyon Ranch project in Copperopolis.

“Their entitlements and development agreement were approved back in 2003,” says 5th District Supervisor Russ Thomas. “One way of looking at it is that this was the administrative approval of the specific location of about 600 of their lots and some specific areas of the subdivision.”

The development will be located off Little John Rd. It will include a resort, 400 acres designated for single family homes, areas for two new schools and open space.

As part of the agreement, Oak Canyon has agreed to help the Sheriff´s Department fund a deputy to patrol the area to help compensate for the impact it will have on law enforcement.
