Cruz Honored In Southern California
Los Angeles, CA — Sonora´s Alisha Cruz was officialy honored Saturday evening at the Universal Hilton Hotel in southern California.
The 20 year old Sonora High School graduate was named as one of the 10 2008 Outstanding Young Californians by the California Jaycee Foundation.
Professionally Cruz has been an integral part of the Friday Night Live portion of the YES Partnership associated with the Amador Tuolumne Community Action Agency (ATCAA). While attending Columbia College she has also served as a member of the AM-1450 KVML News Department focusing on her “On The Street” interviews.
In her acceptance speech, the soon-to-be CSU-Stanislaus student emphasized her desire to always be of help to others. She quoted this saying, “To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.”
Cruz added that at the end of the day she would like to be remembered as someone who was able to help an individual with that person so inspired that they would want to help someone else. “If I´ve done that then I feel that I have achieved everything that God intended for me to accomplish.”
