Sonora, CA — A pair of motorcyclists visiting the Mother Lode over the weekend were injured in related accidents on Hwy 49 north of Coulterville.

According to the C.H.P. report 35 year old Kevin Larson of Modesto was traveling northbound at a speed of between 75-80mph when he attempted to negotiate a posted 20mph left curve. Larson´s 2006 Ducati collided with an embankment. He was ejected landing in a creek bed.

The other biker slowed following the accident. 38 year old Chris Hoagland of Simi Valley was able to avoid hitting the bike directly in front of him by exiting the right side of the roadway and hit a rock-dirt embankment.

Both subjects suffered moderate to major injuries. Larson was transported by ground ambulance to Sonora Regional Medical Center while Hoagland was flown to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto by Air Ambulance.
