Groveland Ranger District’s Lumsden Rd Re-Opens
Groveland, Ca — Lumsden Rd., located in the Stanislaus National Forest´s Groveland Ranger District, is now open for public travel from its gated intersection with Ferretti Rd. to the South Fork Campground.
According to the Forest Service, motorized access from the campground to the Lumsden Bridge is restricted by Forest Order to small motorized vehicles less than 50 inches in width, including off-road motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles (ATVs).
Lumsden Rd. had been closed since October 26th of last year to provide for public safety during selected road repair and maintenance operations. The project work included improving sight distance, expanding Tuolumne River trailhead parking, improving parking at the Lumsden boat launch, and surfacing about two miles of steep and rocky sections of the road.
