Fifth Wheeler Destroyed By Fire In San Andreas
San Andreas, CA — A fifth wheel trailer was destroyed by fire early this morning in the Gold Strike Mobile Home Park in San Andreas.
According to CAL Fire Emergency Command Communications Operator Jim DeVoll the fire was first reported at 3:17am. The male resident suffered second degree burns and was transported to Mark Twain-St. Joseph´s Hospital. Red Cross and P.G.& E. personnel have been on scene. DeVoll adds that the 36 foot fifth wheel is considered a total loss with a damage estimate of approximately $15,000.
The identity of the victim has not been releaesd by authorities. Cause of the fire is under investigation. Fire crews are expected to remain on scene until at least 6am.
Response included two CAL Fire engines, a chief, engine, truck, a water tender and breathing support from San Andreas Fire, an engine and a water tender from Mokelumne Hill Fire District and a truck from the Foothill Fire District.
