Amanda Warden Named Queen Of The 2008 Calaveras County Fair
Angels Camp, CA — Amanda Irene Warden was officially named Queen of the 2008 Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee Wednesday evening.
The 17 year old Calaveras High School senior from Valley Springs captured the honor by the vote of five judges. Areas of judging included interviews, talent, health and fitness and evening gown competition.
Warden stated her interests as reading, wakeboarding, singing at church, keeping wrestling statistics, watching football games and working at Starbucks. She plans to be a clinical psychologist.
Asked about the toughest part of the competition Warden admitted it was definitely singing in front of an audience.
Warden wins a $1,000 scholarship from the Angels-Murphys Rotary Club. Bret Harte senior Sandy McClenahan was named as first runnerup while Kayla Marie Wilson of San Andreas finished as second runnerup.
Erin Bryant from Mountain Oaks Charter School was named Miss Photogenic while the Community Service Award went to Calaveras High senior Katherine “Kat” Jones. Kayla Wilson won the Miss Congeniality Award and the Directors Award went to Calaveras High Senior Tatiana Priestley from West Point.
