High Speed Chase Results In Arrest Of West Point Man
West Point, Ca — When a Calaveras County Sheriff´s Deputy attempted to pull over 38-year-old Steven Herman of West Point earlier this week, he led law enforcement on a six mile chase that reached speeds of 70 mph.
The pursuit started at the intersection of Main St. and Hwy 26 in West Point and ended at the driveway of Herman´s residence on Hwy 26 in West Point. During a search of the vehicle, deputies found over three ounces of marijuana as well as a switch blade knife.
Herman has been charged with evading a peace officer, possession and transportation of marijuana, driving without a license and having no proof of insurance. The suspect is being held on $75,000 bail in Calaveras County Jail.
