Jamestown Resident Critically Injured In Dirt Bike Accident

Jamestown, CA — 28 year old Derrick Franco of Jamestown was critically injured during the six o´clock hour this morning while riding a friend´s dirt bike.

According to CHP Officer Tom Wills, Franco had absolutely no experience riding such a vehicle.

Wills adds that Franco, due to excessive speed, failed to negotiate a turn. The dirt bike proceeded approximately seven feet up an embankment. Franco was ejected from the bike.

Franco was wearing a protective helmet at the time of the accident but he failed to buckle it. The helmet flew off Franco´s head. Franco´s head then made contact with the pavement.

An air ambulance lifeflighted Franco to Memorial North Hospital in Modesto.

Chicken Ranch Rd. was shut down for the period it time to have Franco extricated from the scene.
