Sponsored by:

Columbia, Ca — A groundbreaking ceremony will occur at 10 o´clock Monday morning for the $2.8 million Columbia College Public Safety Center.

The facility will consolidate the existing campus emergency services into a single location, and that includes the fire station, campus security and emergency dispatch.

The ceremony will be held at the present fire house site that is located off Sawmill Flat Rd. The project is funded by Measure E, which was passed by voters within the Yosemite Community College District.

Scheduled dignitaries who plan to be on hand include College President Dr. Joan Smith, YCCD Chancellor Dr. Roe Darnell and members of the YCCD Board of Trustees. The event is open to the public.
