$8,000 Plus Raised At Caropreso Family Car Wash Fundraiser
Sonora, CA — According to Event Co-Coordinator Rhonda Coville, a little more than $8,000 was donated Sunday at the McCoy Tire Caropreso Family Car Wash Fundraiser on Stockton Rd.
A week ago Saturday four year old Michael Caropreso disappeared into the water while playing on an island near the Tuttletown Recreation area.
Coville, a C.P.A. (Certified Nursing Assistant), applied CPR but to no avail. Caropreso was transported to Oakland Children´s Hospital diagnosed with major organ damage. He passed away at approximately 9:25 Thursday evening.
The fund raising car wash was quickly organized because the Caropreso family does not have medical insurance.
According to Coville SaveMart, Pak-N-Save, Cost-U-Less, Doc´s Texas BBQ and Burgers, $ Tree Store, Little Caesar´s Pizza and Roundtable Pizza all contributed to the day long effort which started at 8:30am.
A trust fund for the family has been established at Wells Fargo Bank.
