Mother Lode Power Outages Reduced To 335

Stockton, CA — P.G.& E. is reporting that this week’s storm related power outages in the Mother Lode have been reduced to 335.

According to Public Information Officer Nicole Liebelt the greatest concentration of outages remains in the West Point  and Pine Grove areas. Wednesday morning it was announced that there were no outages remaining in Tuolumne County.

With still another storm on the way Ms. Liebelt adds that all residents should have battery powered radios and flashlights with fresh batteries.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the Sierra Nevada effective tonight through Sunday morning. Snow levels will initially start out rather low and several inches of snow is possible in the foothills later tonight and into Friday morning. Those snow levels will rise by tomorrow afternoon. 

Several feet of snow is expected from 4,500 to 6,300 feet with the heaviest mountain snowfall expected Saturday and Saturday night.

Winds of 40-60 mph can be expected over the higher ridges with some gusts reaching 60-80 mph.
