Winter Storm Watch Issued Through The Weekend

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the Sierra Nevada effective from 10 PM tonight through Sunday morning.
Snow levels will initially start out rather low. Several inches of snow is possible in the Motherlode’s foothills later tonight into Friday morning. However, the snow levels will rise by Friday afternoon.
Several feet of snow is expected from 4500 to 6300 feet.
The heaviest mountain snowfall is expected Saturday during the day or that night.
Winds of forty to sixty mph can be expected over the higher ridges with some gusts reaching sixty to eighty mph.
