Final C.H.P. Statewide M.E.P. Statistics Released

Jamestown, CA — The final numbers are in for the C.H.P. statewide Thanksgiving Day weekend Maximum Enforcement Period (M.E.P.).

According to Sonora area Officer Mike Remmel there were 19 accidents that took the lives of 24 people over the 102 hour M.E.P. 33 deaths were recorded during the same weekend a year ago.

In addition 1,461 motorists were arrested this year for driving-under-the-influence.
