Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — This evening the Sonora City Council will adopt a resolution (11-16-2009-A) of acceptance which accepts a Grant Deed from the Sanguinetti Land Company, L.P. for property along Old Wards Ferry Rd.

This Grant Deed is being accepted for road realignment purposes regarding the establishment of one acre of “open space” as a portion of the Lowe’s Home Improvement Center project.

In return the city will execute a Grant Deed to the Sanguinetti Land Company, L.P. for vacated right-of-way along Old Wards Ferry Rd.

According to City Administrator Greg Applegate the last major hurdle prior to groundbreaking will be reaching a settlement with the Public Utilities Commission and the Sierra Railroad for the realignment of the tracks that currently run adjacent to Applebee’s Restaurant.

Also at this evening’s meeting the Council will consider adopting a resolution (11-16-2009-B) which supports the Police Department’s USDA Rural Development grant application for patrol vehicle replacement and authorization for the Police Chief (Mark Stinson) to sign any and all grant documents, including the application, agreement and any subsequent amendments.

This evening’s meeting gets underway at five o’clock at City Hall and is open to the public.
