CHP Identifies Hwy 49 Accident Motorists

San Andreas, CA — Late Monday the CHP identified the three people involved in the 9:20am three vehicle accident that, for a short time, completely closed Hwy 49 north of Angels Camp at Deer Creek.

The accident occured when a three axle cement truck was attempting to make a left hand turn off Hwy 49. 46 year old Larry Truong and 43 year old Kathy Truong, both of Standard, were stopped in their 1983 Toyota Cressida awaiting that turn.

67 year old James Miller of Angels Camp, driving a 2000 Dodge Ram, was momentarily distracted when he reached over to secure paperwork that was sliding across the front seat. He was unable to brake in time and collided with the Truong vehicle.

The Toyota Cressida was pushed into a dirt embankment and overturned. The Truongs were able to exit the vehicle suffering only minor injuries. They were transported to Mark Twain St. Joseph Hospital for treatment.

No citation was issued.
