Sonora City Council O.K.’s Property Exchange
Sonora, CA — Monday evening the Sonora City Council approved the property exchange between the city and the Ray Sanguinetti Company for an acre of land that will set aside as open space pertaining to the Lowe’s Home Improvement Center project.
As City Administrator Greg Applegate commented, "This was all apart of the deal struck between the city and the Tuolumne County Citizens for Responsible Growth. We will construct some type of historical monument and the property will be rezoned and never developed.
Our next step, in fact it’s really the last hurdle before ground can be broken, is to work with the Public Utilities Commission in realigning the Sierra Pacific railroad tracks that currently run to the north of Applebee’s Restaurant. Once that is completed we should be good to go for breaking ground."
