Sierra Village Resident Seriously Injured In DUI Accident
Jamestown, CA — 23 year old Billy Garner, Jr. of Sierra Village was seriously injured in a late Friday evening DUI accident on Hwy 108 west of Chicken Ranch Rd.
According to CHP Public Information Officer Mike Remmell Garner was westbound at 11:20 when he allowed his vehicle to cross the double yellow lines and strike a 2003 Ford driven by 38 year old Tobin Denton of Sonora.
Garner’s 1989 Nissan continued westbound crossing back into the correct lane of travel before exiting the roadway and colliding with a large oak tree down an embankment.
Garner suffered severe head and back injuries. He was medi-flighted to Memorial Hospital in Modesto and is listed in serious condition in the ICU. Garner was arrested for driving-under-the-influence.
Denton, along with his wife Yvonne, 12 year old Carter Denton and six year old Samuel Denton, suffered minor injuries. Their vehicle suffered major damage. They were returning from the Sonora-Grace Davis football game at Johansen High School in Modesto.
Debris from the accident caused minor damage to a 2009 Pontiac driven by 30 year old Ramiro Saldivar of Ceres.
