Hwy 49 Motorcycle Accident Victim Identified
San Andreas, CA — 46 year old Edwin R. Schwindt of Lemoore has been identified by the CHP as the motorcyclist who suffered major injuries when he was involved in a Wednesday noon hour accident on Hwy 49 a half a mile south of the Amador County line in the Mokelumne Hill curves.
According to the CHP report Schwindt’s excessive speed in a southbound direction did not allow him to negotiate a curve in the roadway. He subsequently lost control of his 2008 Harley Davidson which struck a guard rail.
Schwindt was ejected from the bike and thrown down a dirt embankment where he came to rest.
Schwindt was pulled from the weeds and bushes by firefighters and CHP personnel via rope and a backboard. He was then transported to Sutter Amador Hospital.
