Sonora, CA — Thanks to the passage of the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self Determination Act Tuolumne County schools are receiving $911,000 this year.
School Superintendent Joe Silva comments that the funds will be utilized to save approximately 13 teaching positions throughout the county.
Silva added, "Once we get back on track and the economy turns around, both statewide and county wide then that money is going to enhanced programs."
