Sons In Retirement Opening New Sierra Branch

Sponsored by:

Sons in Retirement is a social club for retired and semi-retired men which has become so popular that beginning today, a new Sierra branch is being formed.

SIR Area Governor Norm Whitsed was Thursday’s KVML, “Newsmaker of the Day”.

This new branch will serve Sonora, Jamestown, Tuolumne, Twain Harte, Angels Camp, Copperopolis and any point in between. This will help to handle the overflow of the current Sonora and Twain Harte branch.

SIR is a social organization and not a service club. There are many activities each month including travel, golf, fishing, bowling, theater, R.V.ing, etc.

The first meeting of Sierra SIR Branch #77 will take place today at the Sonora Elks lodge with events that will include a social hour at 11am and a luncheon at Noon. Anyone interested in potentially joining SIR or would like to find out more information are invited to attend. If you can not attend call Roger Milligan for information at (209) 533-0627.

Sons in Retirement has 21,000 members from Bakersfield, CA to the Oregon border.

The “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard each weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:47, 7:47 and 8:47am.
