Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — In a comparison with a year ago Tuolumne County recorded one additional arrest for those ticketed for driving under the influence over the Labor Day weekend.

This year the CHP recorded six DUI arrests while last year’s total was five.

Unlike a year ago there was one fatal accident this year. That occured Friday evening at 11:15 when 19 year old Cody George of Valley Springs was killed in a single vehicle accident on Hwy 49 north of the Rawhide Rd. intersection.

19 year old Trevor Larson was driving drunk when he lost control of his 1999 VW Jetta and collided with two metal cattle fences and a wood picket fence.

As previously reported Larson now faces felony drunk driving and vehicular homicide charges.

Overall for the state there were 10 fatalities over the weekend. DUI arrests totaled 1,262.
