Big Meadow Fire Cost Surpasses $14 million

Yosemite National Park, CA — The 13 day old Big Meadow Fire in Yosemite has now burned 11.6 square miles or 7,425 acres.
Containment now stands at 95 percent.
Resources have been drastically reduced. On site Sunday were 851 personnel … down from a high of 13-hundred plus last week. Sunday resources included 22 hand crews, 34 engines, 12 water tenders and three helicopters.
Three minor injuries have been reported to date. 100 percent containment is still scheduled for this Thursday.
Firefighting cost to date; $14.3 million.
