Valley Springs Teen Dies In Crash

Valley Springs, CA — An unidentified 19-year-old Valley Springs resident was fatally injured in a vehicle accident late Friday evening on Hwy 49 north of Rawhide Rd.

The CHP says 19-year-old Trevor Larson of Valley Springs was driving a 1999 Volkswagen Jetta over the 55 mph speed limit when he lost control of the vehicle and collided into two separate cattle fences and a wood picket fence. Larson suffered major injuries and was transported to Sonora Regional Medical Center. An unidentified 19-year-old passenger was pronounced dead on scene, and a second passenger, 19-year-old Colton McTeer of Mokelumne Hill was not injured.

The CHP says Larson was determined to be intoxicated and faces charges of DUI and Vehicular Manslaughter. The accident was reported at 11:15pm.

This marks the 17th traffic related fatality of the year in Tuolumne County.
