SRMC Opens Center For Hyberbaric Wound Care
Sonora, CA – A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Tuesday evening at Sonora Regional Medical Center’s new Center for Hyberbaric Wound Care.
SRMC President and CEO Jeff Eller welcomed visitors and gave an overview of the new offerings related to the treatment of chronic, non-healing wounds.
The Center for Hyberbaric Wound Care is located at the Sonora Regional Imaging Center at 12811 Covey Circle. Nationally, officials estimate that around six million people suffer from chronic non-healing wounds, a condition that can lead to amputation of limbs. Associated with inadequate circulation, poorly functioning veins and immobility, non-healing wounds occur most frequently among the elderly population and people with diabetes.
Dignitaries on hand Tuesday, that gave well wishes and briefly spoke, included T.C. Chamber of Commerce Chairman Tom Berry, 1st District County Supervisor Liz Bass and Sonora City Councilman Hank Russell.
Eller took time to recognize a number of SRMC staff members who played a part in making the center a reality. He also gave praise to former SRMC President Lary Davis, who was also in attendance.
