Cogdill Calls For Action On Water

Sponsored by:

Sacramento, CA — Whether to make vast upgrades to the state’s water infrastructure is a debate currently unfolding at the state capitol.

At rally in Sacramento Tuesday, Senator Dave Cogdill said, "We don’t need more bureaucracy on this issue, we need more water, and we have it. We in this state have historically been blessed with the amount of precipitation that falls on an average annual basis, but we don’t manage it properly. We allow over 65 percent of it to run into the ocean each and every year."

Tuesday’s rally outside the state capitol was hosted by the Latino Water Coalition and also attended by Governor Schwarzenegger.

Cogdill is the Vice Chair of the Senate Natural Resources and Water Committee, and feels that additional above ground storage must be a part of the overall water solution.
