Calaveras County To Apply For Homeland Security Funding
San Andreas, CA — The Calaveras County Supervisors will vote Tuesday whether to submit an application for grant funding to the U.S. Homeland Security Department.
The Calaveras County Terrorism Approval Authority Committee (TAAC) is made up of personnel from the Sheriff’s Department, Angels Camp Police Department, San Andreas Fire Protection District and the County’s Public Health Department. The group is requesting $190,000 to purchase radio repeaters and medical supplies, and fund planning and training courses.
The Supervisors will also take time to recognize County Surveyor Bruce Child Jr., who is retiring after 27 years of service.
The meeting will begin at 9am, Tuesday in San Andreas.
