Money Coming For Greenley Improvements
Sonora, CA — Caltrans will be awarding $735,000 from the Safe Route to Schools grant program for safety improvements along Greenley Rd.
Tuolumne County Public Works Director Peter Rei made the announcement to the Board of Supervisors Tuesday. Caltrans is requiring a 10 percent local match.
The plan calls for the creation of a new entrance to Sonora Elementary, a new traffic signal and a sidewalk along the west side of Greenley Rd.
Many groups and agencies have been working together to help secure the grant funding, including the county, school district, City of Sonora and Sonora Regional Medical Center.
