Sponsored by:

Yosemite, CA — The Wildcat Fire in Yosemite National Park is now estimated to be 903 acres and smoldering along the Tuolumne River.

Information Officer Gary Wuchner says the fire is located in one of the most remote, steep and rugged wilderness areas of the park. The Grand Canyon Trail of the Tuolumne from Glen Aulin High Sierra Camp to Pate Valley remains closed until further notice. The fire is being managed for multiple objectives, and officials are allowing it to burn dead and down fuels from the forest floor.

The fire is located approximately five miles up river from the Hetch Hetchy Reservoir.
