Blast Of Winter Set For The Mother Lode
Sonora, CA — According to the National Weather Service a blast of winter weather is headed for the Mother Lode tomorrow.
Thunderstorms with the threat of snow and windy conditions will be arriving in the Mother Lode Thursday. Even though we’re in the middle of summer the snowfall level will drop to 85-hundred to 9,000 feet. Temperatures will be anywhere from 15 to 20 cooler than is normal for this time of the year.
Those planning extended hiking excursions to the John Muir, Pacific Crest and other high country trails should either delay plans until the weekend or bring extra winter weather gear for the Thursday through Friday period.
