Stanislaus National Forest Names New Deputy Forest Supervisor

Sonora, CA — Christina Welch has been named as the new Deputy Forest Supervisor of the Stanislaus National Forest.

Welch is currently the Field Manager on the Central Oregon Resource Area of the Prineville District of the B.L.M. (Bureau of Land Management) in central Oregon.

Welch has held her current position with B.L.M. since 2000 where she supervises field operations of over 800,000 acres of public land with the full complement of natural resources and issues, including Wild and Scenic Rivers, wildernesses, endangered species, grazing and vegetation management.

In her 28 year career Welch has previous work experience with the Forest Service as Staff Officer for Recreation, Engineering, Archaeology, Lands (realty) and Minerals on the Ochoco National Forest and serving as a civil engineer on the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest.

Welch received a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from San Diego State University. She will assume her new duties in mid-September.
