Youth Track Meet Set For Summerville High

Sponsored by:

Tuolumne, CA — The Tuolumne County Parks and Recreation Department will host its annual Youth Track Meet tomorrow evening at Summerville High School.

The open-to-the-public free meet will get underway at six o’clock with registration starting at five o’clock.

Athletes between the ages of one and four can compete in a 10 and 25 meter dash along with a tennis ball throw and long jump.

Ages 5-8 will compete in a 50, 100 and 200 meter dash along with a softball throw and long jump.

And the "seniors" (ages 9-14) will compete in the 100, 200, 400 and 1,600 meter dash with a softball throw and long jump.

Begley adds that with the proposed closure of the Parks and Recreation Department due to a reduced budget, this may be the very last Youth Track Meet in Tuolumne County.
