S.P.D.’s Explorer Post Captures Five Trophies

Sonora, CA — The Sonora Police Department’s Explorer Post returned home recently from the Redwood Empire Explorer Challenge in Sebastopol (Sonoma County) with five trophies.

First place in physical performance went to Lucas VanBolt. VanBolt and Daniel Person captured the second place award in Emergency Field First Aid. VanBolt also placed third in the Written Exam.

Robby Roberts and Nathan Delaney finished in third place in Domestic Violence while the third place award in Traffic Stops/Field Interviews went to Taylor Joy and Russell Perry.

31 law enforcement agencies were represented at the event with approximately 300 explorers entered in the competition.

Next year the Sonora Police Department will be hosting the event April 10 at Columbia College. The coordinator will be Sgt. Glenn Roberts who oversees the local program.
