2009/10 Proposed Budget To Highlight T.C. Supervisors Meeting

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — This morning at nine o’clock the Tuolumne County supervisors will be asked by CAO Craig Pedro to approve his proposed 2009/10 fiscal budget.

As detailed in a Saturday (6/6/09) MyMotherLode.com story, Pedro has listed the deficit at $7.2 million. Pedro is recommending the county reduce its employee base by 12.4 percent. That would dictate a reduction of 99 positions. A number of those positions will be privitized by V.N.A. Hospice county employees moving under the Sonora Regional Medical Center umbrella.

In addition to the budget discussion the supervisors will be asked to authorize the Sheriff’s Office and the District Attorney’s office to submit an Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant application in the amount of $13,610.

Also the supervisors will consider awarding the agreement for completion of the Groveland Youth Center to Custom Builders in the amount of $369,891.
