Sonora City Council To Revisit Lowe’s Project
Sonora, CA — When the Sonora City Council meets at 5pm today the Lowe’s Home Improvement Center project will be revisited.
The realignment of Old Wards Ferry Rd. will be discussed and possibly approved. At the last meeting regarding this subject the attorney for Citizens For Responsible Growth had several questions regarding the realignment.
Financially City Administrator Greg Applegate maintaines the city would conservatively realize $410,000 in annual sales tax ($415,000 for the county), $60-80,000 in property taxes and additional income from business license fees and solid waste disposal fees.
In addition Lowe’s has stated the new store would hire 120 employees, 80 of them fulltime.
