CHP Identifies Victims Of Saturday Night Collision

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — The two people killed in Saturday’s collision on Hwy 120 near the Yosemite Junction have been identified as 26-year-old Nicholas Pena and two-year-old Christina Nassario.

They and two others were in a Dodge Intrepid that was struck head-on by a 2005 Toyota driven by Gregory Ruccello of Turlock. Also in the Dodge and sustaining minor injuries were 24-year-old Edwinda Nassario and three-year-old Adam Nassario,

The CHP report says that Ruccello was attempting to pass another vehicle over double yellow lines and did not see the car driven by Pena coming towards him.

Officer Tom Wills says the CHP is still conducting an investigation into the crash and says Ruccello could eventually be charged with vehicular manslaughter.
