T.U.D. Reduces Rate Increase Proposal

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne Utilities District Board of Directors have approved a one year rather than the proposed five year rate increase.

By a 4-1 Tuesday evening vote (Bob Behee was the lone dissenting vote) the Board put the rubber stamp on a one year increase of $7.09 per month.

T.U.D. General Manager Pete Kampa commented, “In these difficult economic times there were unanswered questions in the minds of the public and the Board on just exactly how critical the need was for a multi-year increase with all the job loss. It was democracy in action. The next step is to have the public hearing on May 12 and convey to the public that the intent of the Board is to have a single year rather than a multi-year increase.”
