Two Motorcyclists Arrested By Sonora Police
Sonora, CA — Two motorcyclists are behind bars in the Tuolumne County Jail after attempting to outrun Sonora Police officers Friday midnight.
An officer tried to pull over two bikes at Stewart St. for having modified exhaust systems. Chief Mark Stinson says the bikers then accelerated turning eastbound on Hospital Rd.
As they made the turn one of the bikers lost control of his motorcycle as it crossed the railroad tracks. 24 year old Michael Hamblin of Sonora hit the ground but was uninjured. He was immediately arrested.
Meanwhile 29 year old Levi Kesterson of Copperopolis proceeded eastbound on Hospital Rd. before stopping directly in front of an officer. He also was arrested.
Chief Mark Stinson says Hamblin was booked for failure to yield and driving under the influence. Kesterson was charged with failure to yield, driving under the influence and driving on a suspended license.
