Roadside Burns Underway In Yosemite
Sponsored by:
Yosemite, CA — Yosemite National Park fire managers are conducting a pair of roadside burn projects this week near the communities of Wawona and Foresta.
Fire Manager Gary Wuchner says the Wawona project will last around two weeks and consists of burning piles along a three mile stretch.
The Foresta burn should be completed earlier, likely around the end of the week. Both of the burns are an effort to reduce fuels in the forest.
Residents may notice drift smoke in the area.
