T.U.D. Says Water Supply About Average

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — The storms that passed through the region last month have helped increase the water supply for the Tuolumne Utilities District.

T.U.D. General Manager Pete Kampa says, “I am pleased to report that after reviewing current overall totals; T.U.D.’s water supply is at average for this time of year.”

He says the statement is based on the most recent statistical information regarding water flow and snow water content at Lower Relief Valley (reported at 37.08 inches as of 3/5/2009).

It is still unknown whether there will be any type of mandatory water rationing this year for customers.

“The State itself may issue mandatory restrictions, but at this time the Tuolumne Utilities District is not considering it,” says Kampa. “Unless we are directed by the State, it doesn’t look like we will have to do it.”
