Funds awarded to the Soroptimist Foundation will be used to provide financial assistance for unmet medically related needs of women and girls in the county through their Touching Lives program.

The funds awarded to the Calaveras Children’s Dental Project will be utilized to augment the current elementary school dental program. Due to a change in outreach strategies the program has experienced an increase of 45 percent in student contacts as compared to a year ago.

The Community Grants Program is part of Mark Twain St. Joseph’s community benefits initiative. A total of $3.3 million for 199 community projects has been awarded through the 40 CHW hospitals.
