Cause Of Calaveras County Traffic Fatality Determined
San Andreas, CA — Wednesday seven year old Symon Patelzick of Valley Springs was killed when hit by a vehicle while on his way to school.
CHP Officer Jaime Castillo states that the investigation has not been completed but the cause of the accident has been determined.
Patelzick was following his older brother when he attempted to cross South Comanche Parkway. He was wearing headphones and a dark colored hooded sweatshirt when he was hit by a 1999 Dodge Intrepid driven by 56 year old Michael Driggers also of Valley Springs.
The CHP report indicates Driggers was the first to adminster CPR to the youngster who was pronounced dead shortly thereafter at Mark Twain-St. Joseph’s Hospital.
This marked the first traffic related fatality of the year in the Mother Lode.
