Energy Audits for Motherlode Homes

Sponsored by:

Glen Inouye, Chairperson for the Central Sierra Ecological Building Association was Wednesday’s KVML Newsmaker of the Day.

The Central Sierra Ecological Building Association (CSBEA) is a seed group of Focus which is a non-profit organization that works to educate Tuolumne and Calaveras County residents on sustainable living and community self-reliance.

CSBEA itself promotes sustainable building practices and is made up of a network of designers, builders, engineers, contractors, and energy specialists.

"Our outreach is to educate the public on how they can go about making their homes energy efficent and healthy." Inouye said, "In our approach, we look at how each part of the home interacts with each other, in what’s called ‘Building Science’. It is part of an entire system known as Home Performance Contracting."

Tonight (March 4th) at the Murphy’s Hotel, there will be a free Energy Audit Presentation where the audience will be shown what Building Science is and will learn how to keep their own homes comfortable, durable and livable for less money.

Limited seats are available. Reservations can be made by calling Glen at (209) 768-4207. The Presentation begins at 6pm and dinner is optional.

The Newsmaker of the Day can be heard each weekday morning at 6:47, 7:47 and 8:47 on AM-1450 KVML.
