Dawn’s Light Awarded $40,000 Grant
Sonora, CA — Sonora based Dawn´s Light, a center for children and adults in grief, has been awarded a $40,000 grant from the Sacramento based Sierra Health Foundation.
“It feels like we are being validated for what we are doing,” says Nansea Arquette, Executive Director. “It´s really going to grow and strengthen Dawn´s Light.”
The funding will allow the organization to continue its many programs, pay part time staff, provide additional training and reimburse volunteers for travel expenditures.
Dawn´s Light is the lone grief center in the Sierra Nevada foothills that offers specialized bereavement services for children and adults coping with the death of a loved one. The organization is also active in local suicide prevention efforts.
