A Christmas Story To Remember

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Deputy Matt Stuart has quickly become the focal point of a Christmas story to be remembered.

At 4am on December 20 Stuart was dispatched to a family disturbance at the State Street Apartments in Columbia. The residents have been identified as Branda Webb and her two sons, ages 17 and 10.

The mother and the 17 year old were in the midst of one of their disputes. The youngster had even run away from home on a number of occasions. Day after day the 10 year old would witness the constant bickering.

Stuart quickly surmized the Christmas spirit was missing. Later that day the single father took his daughter to Wal Mart and purchased a Christmas tree, decorations and presents for the family out of his own pocket.

Stated Sheriff Jim Mele, “This is typical of the type of people that we have in our department. This was above and beyond the call of duty and Deputy Stuart demonstrated what Christmas is all about … giving.”
