Pland And Gray Sworn In As Tuolumne County Supervisors

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — Incumbent Dick Pland (Fifth District) and newcomer John Gray (Fourth District) were sworn in today as Tuolumne County Supervisors by Superior Court Judge Eric DuTemple in the Supervisorial Chambers at the County Administration Center.

In stepping down from his 2008 Board Chair position, Pland now embarks on his fourth term. He emphasized that the budget process in Sacramento remains the greatest challenge that all 58 California counties are currently facing. He added that he welcomes John Gray aboard and that he and the other three supervisors will do their best to get Gray up to speed so he can become a truly productive Board member.

Gray for his part has attended many of the Tuesday meetings. At the same time he has spent a great deal of time visiting with CAO Craig Pedro and county department heads. Gray mentioned to the audience that, “I will put my heart and soul into this job and do the best job I can possibly do but I still want this endeavor to be a fun experience.”

By a unanimous vote Teri Murrison was elected Board Chair. Vice Chair honors went to Supervisor Liz Bass who is currently in Hawaii.

The Tuolumne County supervisors will conduct their initial 2009 meeting tomorrow. At 9am click Supervisors Meeting for the live audio stream brought to you Blue Mountain Minerals.
